Salpa Holy Lake Trekking

The holy Salpa Lake (3414m.) is worshipped by both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage in August. Which is also believed having bath in this holy lake is the way of salvation from the sin you have committed.The holy lake Salpa is also popularly known to visit the Tamang and Rai Samans and their ritual performance during the holy festival in August.

Trekking is started at Tumlingtar and finished either Lukla or to Jiri, (The entrance of  classical Everest trek before Lukla airport was in operation.
Day 1st– Preparation, packing, and departure to Dharan city (night bus). 
Day 2nd - Arrival in Dharan, Bus Dharan–Tumlingtar.
Day 3rd   – Trekking Tumlingtar–Tsalesi.
Day 4th  – Trekking Tsalesi–Tabutar -Dobhani
Day 5th   – Trekking Dobhani–Low Phedi. Along the way, visit to a primitive water-mill. Visit to a family farm that manually produces rice paper
Day 6th  – Trekking L.Phedi–Giau Bari. Hard trekking from terais to a belt of high-mountainous plants
Day 7th  – Giau Bari-Bilbate. overnight in the Rhododendron wood (near Salpa lake). 
Day 8th   – Lake Salpa, a Holy full moon celebration, and watching the arrival of shamans’ delegations coming from different gorges
Day 9th – Way back. Overnight in Tumlingtar. 
Day 10th   – Departure by bus from Tumlingtar to Dharan. Night bus Dharan-Kathmandu. 
Day 11th   – Arrival in Kathmandu (early morning).
